There was ail attempt by Dublin unemployed to “rush the gates of the Free State Parliament House while the Dail Eireann was in session. It resulted in a riot. The police wore stoned, but they dispersed the crowd by a baton charge.
GERMAN STEAMER ON FIRE.

A message from Aden states tbe steamer Abbekirk, of Hamburg, en route from Antwerp to Brisbane arrived at Aden with a fire in No. o hold. The flooding of the hold will probably be necessary.

MIGRATION MACHINERY.

A shipowner who accompanied the recent delegation to Australia, in an interview' expressed' the shipowners’ disappointment at the drastic restriction on migration foreshadowed by Mr Scullin, which must result in serious losses to regular passenger lines. He said the shipowners, while realising the seriousness of the crisis, with which Australia was faced, look with confidence to the Government to recognise the present industrial conditions can be only a temporary setback to Aus>tralia’s advance. Therefore, the Government should preserve a calm mind and not indiscriminately scrap all migration machinery., which with the return of Australia’s prosperity, will undoubtedly be needed.
EVACU ATION STOP. (Received this dnv at 11 a.m.) BERLIN, November 7. “ YMrwaerts ” reports the cancellation of evacuation orders of the French regiment stationed at Kreuznach in the third zone. The paper is of the opinion that the War Minister, M. Maginot, is responsible and states that it was always his view that the third zone should not be evacuated till the Young Plan was operating. DUTCH STEAMER. AFIRE. . (Received this dav at 10 a.m.) CAPETOWN, Nov. 7. The Dutch cargo steamer Sumatra returned to the docks after a night at sea with the cargo of wool on fire. Fire engines awaited its arrival. The cargo was unloaded. The covering of the propellor shaft was scorched.

In the Commons Mr MacDonald said that no further visits to the Dominions were immediately contemplated, but any opportunity offering as good prospects as Mr Thomas’s visit to Canada would be taken.
