CHILD ENDOWMENT. N.S.W. PROPOSAL. (Australian Press Association). (Received this day at 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 7. / The Neiv South Wales Government is considering a proposal to abolish child endowment and substitute a scheme of finance by. employers and .employees at the rate of sixpence per week. It is believed this scheme could also be applied to widow’s pensions. The question of fixing the basic wage for a man and wife with an average .family could then be proceeded with, independently of child endowment, or widow’s pensions. ■' CON [ N lON WE ALTH LOAN. SYDNEY', -November 7. The Commonwealth Government has decided to float in the Australian market a loan off ten millions sterling, .with interest at 5J per cent at £9B, .redeemable at par in 1934.
