AIR LINER CRASHES

The German air liner from Croydon to Amsterdam crashed in flames at Harden Para. It is believed iliat three passengers and four of the crow were killed and one passenger was saved. Harden Park is between Godstone and Caterliam in Surrey. When the plane left Croydon at 9.55, oHlcm als said everything was then all right. After passing Godstone, the visibil.ty was so bad that the pilot turned hack. He may have misjudged the height of the trees on Foster Down, which is part of North Downs, for the plane apparently struck the edge of a copse, and ploughed through the trees deep into the wood oof'ore finally crashing in flames. The bodies were burned.

It has been revealed six are dead as the result of an air liner smash and two are injured, .one of whom, was the second pilot. Prince Von Schamni.burgli.ppe was hospitalled badly burned and almost unrecognisable a!jout the. face. His clothing was burnt from bis arms and legs, but be was still conscious when picked' up.
An eye witness heard a terrific roar and found a mass of tangled wreckage burning furiously. The air liner struck the top of the trees one of which was completely smashed in two. It then burst into flames and fell to the ground. Four of the bodies were unrecognisably burned.
