In the billiard match, Lind rum (playing) is 16,506, including breaks of 583. 343, and 267. Smith is 14,121 including breaks of 279, 287, 430 and 245. ■
M(.-Connelly (playing) is 15,693, including breaks of 307, .644, 578, 21S, and 3;3 unfinished. Davis is 14,077 im-indine breaks of 231 and 347.
Despite the fact that Davis had reduced McConachy’s lead to 289 .at the start of the afternon session, McConnchy made a remarkable recovery, and he outpointed his opponent by finishing with a lead of 997. The New Zealander gave a brilliant exhibition in the course of h;s break of 644, which ended when he missed a cushion cannon. In the evening he continued to dominate the play, carrying an unfinished break of sixteen to 578.. He broke down oil a red winner.
In tho other match, Smith made the best break in the first eleven hands of the evening when he compiled 413 confidently. He just failed with a cushion cannon. The seventies and 267 were all obtained at the top of the table. He played only twice from baulk. He failed at the third losing hazard which he tried. After a good deal of safety play, Smith got going. At 295 he narrowly mi«sed a follow-through cannon. He averaged 5-1 for 920. Liiulrum averaged 45 for 765.
