AIONDAY, NOV. 4tli. The Committee mot at 7 p.m. ■ Present: Messrs A. C. Armstrong (chairman), AV. F. Richards, W. H. Shannon, It. J. 1-eddcr, FI. it. Slveney and Airs J. 1-1. Wilson. An apology was-made for the absence of Measrs Conning and Chesterman. The minutes were confirmed and-out-ward correspondence approved. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE.
From Dental Officer in reference to services rendered. —Received.
From J, Conning resigning position as Secretary and asking to be relieved ;a!s is cion as possible.—Received, it was resolved to ask Air Conning to reconsider his decision. Air Sweney acted as secretary for the meeting. The Dental Officer reported pupils had been treated from schools as foilows:—Woodstock 44, Ruatapu 38. Arahura 31, Koiterangi 33, Kanieri 23, Kokatahi 27. Humphreys 17, Goldsborough 0, Stafford 2.—Received. From British Empire Service League forwarding copies of King’s Thanksgiving Message.—Received. The Chairman said he would arrange to have one framed for the school.
From Rector (Mr 10 Partridge) reporting attendance satisfactory, and school now permanently in Class 13. The weekly attendance since last report was 277, 288, 304, 304, out of roll number of 325 in primary and of 05, 96, 85, 95 out of roll number of 102 in secondary on October 11th. School football and basket ball teams visited Reef ton. Reporting satisfactory results of recent D. certificate examinations. Dr Baker McLaglen and nurse were at present making the annual examination of the scholars. It was satisfactory to report the health of the children shows considerable improvement. Netting was required to cover the windows of the new class room and other small matters requiring attention.—Received. It was resolved to congratulate-the Rector and scholars on the success at .the examination. . The Visiting Committee (Messrs Sweney and Breeze) reported on. satisfactory conditions at the School with some small requirements.—Received. Mrs Wilson and Mr Shannon are ,visi.ors for November. The Rector submitted a special report on suggested ground improve-, ments for the ensuing year.—Received. It was resolved to procure new hooks for the library up to between £25 and £3O in value. The ground committee to arrange for supply of sand to improve, the west side of the grass plot and to make a sand plot of about a chain square, with necessary kbfhing, The provision of arches for climbing roses across the main entrance was left to a later cute for consideration. The dental nures reported for October 150 attendances and 316 operations.—Received. Accounts as scheduled were passed for payment. Matters in connection with the dimes of the caretaker were referred to the Chairman to have carried out. Mr Richards suggested the formation of a drum and fife band among the scholars and offered personal tuition if it were formed. A cTscussion ensued and it was resolved that the Cnairman, Mr Richards and Rectot report to next meeting fully on the subject, members giving the proposal favourable approval. The meeting closed at 8.45 p.m.
