Bishop Head preached the sermon at Sandringham Church which was attended by Their Majesties and the Queen of Norway. He left Sandringham to-night. The King is returning to London on Monday and will receive Mr MacDonald on Tuesday.

Their Majesties will spend Xmas at Sandringham, but consider it is unlikely the doctors will advise the King to remain either in Norfolk or London for the New Year.

M. Zoubkoff, who professes to be staggered by the divorce, declares he entered Germany to see his . wife, “whose relatives are trying to estrange us,’’ but was ordered to cpiit Germany in 48 hours. It is reported the Princess offered £SOO compensation fpr the return of the letters but Zoubkoff demanded more.' -
FRENCH HOAX
ON RADIO STATION. PARIS, Nov. -4. A wireless station here, on the strength of an unverified telephone message, broadcast a statement that King George of England had died suddenly of heart falure. Twenty minutes later it was discovered that it had been hoaxed, and the station issued a denial. There are many complaints that such a falsehood was possible. FRENCH CABINET.

A Radical policy of ostracising Moderates of any kind brought about a refusal to collaborate in M. Tardieu’s Cabinet, when the Radicals refused a tempting, magnanimous offer of seven portfolios. This forced M. Tardieu to turn to the Centre. Hence the final composition of the Cabinet resembles that of the Cabinet of M. Poincare.
M. Tardieu lias the whole-hearted approval of the majority of tile press, but. the issue of the Government's programme is eagerly awaited" to enable the public to.judge as. to the likelihood of the Government surviving-

WASHINGTON, Nov. 3
The Bureau of Internal Revenue has announced that during the tax year of 1927, two hundred and ninety Americans paid taxes on incomes of one million dollars or more. Of these, 59 were newcomes to the, class of millionaires from the previous year. There were 26 of them women, of whom three were unmarried. Eleven persons had incomes of five millions or more. No fewer than 136 of the total of 290 were residents of New York State.
