FRENCH POLITICS. Fiance has just experienced another oi its periodic political crisis. The Socialists were annoyed with M. Briand because he had not consulted the Chamber of Deputies about his foreign policy, and they decided to teach him a lesson. In France, with ten or twelve relatively small parties manoeuvring round each other, majorities are gained or lost with startling rapidity, and Ministers rise or fall like meteors. Briand himself has acquired remarkable dexterity in controlling: such a precarious situation.
