WESTLAND SUB-UNION. A meeting of the Union was held last Thursday evening. Mr H. M. Con Ison presided over the following members —McGregor, Dowell, Cuthush, Howat, Stafford, McDonald, and Heenan.
The Treasurer submitted a financial statement covering the season’s operations. The statement disclosed a very satisfactory position, the season constituting a new record for the SubUnion.
The Cbai-inan congratulated all members and tlm Clubs for the splendid result achieved and moved the adoption H the report. Mr F. McGregor seconded the adoption and also extended Ids congratulations, the motion being carried unanimously.
Accounts as tabled were passed for payment. Tenders worn received from Hallenstoin ]?r<s.. W. Stonfnrth, and S. J. Preston for the supply of representation jersevs. Consideration was defwfpd to next .soa.sor.bs committee to attend to.

Tire Chairman then asked Mr Howat to accept a gold-mounted m<mvette holder and cigarette case. Members all voiced their appreciation of their guest’s sterling qualities, especially in his official capacity ns treasurer. Members then rose and drank the guest’s good health. Mr Howat very feelingly replied. Hating he was pelnsed that his services had been appreciated. He had alwnvs Hied to do h ; s best especially for the footballers. He thanked members for their handsome presentation. It would always remind lnm of the many pleasant hours spent at the Union table. If at anv time he could he of service to the. Union he would be pleased to act. He thanked members very sincerely indeed and trusted the Union would have a. still more successful season in 1930.
A few further toasts were honoured and the gathering dispersed at 6 p.m. a very pleasant social hour haring been 'spent.

AUSTRALIANS V. OLDHAM. LONDON, November 2. In the League football match, Australia defeated Oldham by 18 to 10. At half-time Oldham led by 7 to 0.
