The semi-finals in the New Zealand amateur billiards championsip were played to-night. C. Stout ("Wellington) beat H. J._ Slinks (Wellington) by 666 points tot 512. Tne breaks were :—Stout: 42, 25 29, 23, 27, 20. 93, 52, 29, 31, 23, 39, 27; Shanks: 30, 23, 36, 23, 50, 25, 33, 45, 34, 20. • A Bowrie (Auckland), the bolder, beat W. N. Tucker (Wellington) by 666 points to 369. Breaks :—Bowrie : 26, 49, 55, 20, 74, 50, 49, 24, 60; Tucker : 39, 25, 26. “WELLINGTON, November 4.
Stout (Wellington) won the amateur billiards championship, defeating Bowie (Auckland), the present holder, 1500 to 1282. The latter had the worst of the luck of the balls running against him. The principal breaks were: Stout 118, 60, 55, 52, 51; Bowie 105, 90, 51, and four of over 40:-
