LUNCHEON SPEECEES

USE OF COLONIAL WINES

[United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.]

(Received this day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 2,

Air Noel Buxton, speaking at the Brewers Exhibition luncheon, expressed the opinion that a national guarantee would have a mo,st beneficial effect on Britain’s means of marketing concerning Eon iie trade. It was essential that the heart of the Empire should be sound. “Remember Empire trading begins at home,” Mr Chairman Dale declared. Empire wine was increasing in popularity. There were over two hundred exhibits, which was most encouraging. “Cheap Colonial wines were rapidly gaining in popularity in northern manufacturing areas, where workers relish something with a kick in it. They prefer Colonial wine to bear.”

Colonial wines were served at the luncheon.
