EVERYBODYS pictures. r*r “EXCESS. BAGGAGE” TO-NIGHT. Small time vaudeville leading to .big time love and drama. That, in a sentence is “Excess Baggage,” one of the most interesting and successful p ictmes of. the year, which opens at the Princess Theatre to-night. It was given, to James Crime, of “Covered '* aggon” Tame to direct, and he chose )Villiam. Haines for . the star. Haines is to T day considered the most human personality on the screen. The screen is remarkably well knit and never hags in, interest from start to finish. The audience alternated between laughter and tears with an occasional moment .out to cheer. The,-plot is based on a small-time vaudevilles troupe where Haines, as Eddie Kane, marries Josephine Dunn (a real actress by the way). The wife finds herself to be merely “Excess Baggage’’ in her husband’s act, arid lyhen,, she is given \an opportunity for screen .sqccess takes advantage of it. Ayjiljout her, Kane finds that lie can no longer do his dangerous act which wasi just to. earn him fame and fortune on. the. big. time and liej iii liis turn, becomes. “Excess Baggage.” A year .both parties meet in Ne'w York Oity'and,work out their problem in an exiting and novel mariner.
