HOKITIKA TENNIS CLUB

The opening of 1929-1930 tennis season took place at the iClub’s courts on Saturday, when a large attendance of members,,and players from other clubs were present. Although the weather was somewhat unpleasant in the early morning it cleared later, allowing a junior singles /tournament to be held—the winners of which were Master P. Irwin and Miss J. Dowell. In the afternoon the Yankee Tournament was terminated in the final between Dr Hayes and Mrs Ecclesfield and Mrs Christianson and Miss Ross, the former proving to be the winners by a small margin. Afternoon tea' was provided by the lady members of the Club and was much appreciated by all those presont.
