WEDDING BELLS

The marriage took place at St. Patrick’s Church, Greymouth, yesterday of Veronica Mary, daughter of Mr and Mrs David Kennedy, of Taylorville, to Mr Edward Charles Kearns, of Hokitika. Father Long officiated. Miss Gertrude Kearns was bridesmaid and Mr David Kennedy junior was best mail. The wtedding breakfast took place at Harker’s Tearooms where toasts befitting the occasion were honoured, and the newly-wed-ded couple then left on their honeymoon.

The wedding took place on Thursday morning, at Holy Trinity Church, Greymouth, of Hessie, third daughter of Mr and Mrs Herbert Leach, Preston Road, to Thomas, second son of Mr and Mrs T. Currie, of Runanga. Archdeacon J. A. Jormyn conducted the (jeremony. The' bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of strawberry crepe-de-chine, with hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of flowers. The bridesmaid, Miss Maggie Leach, sister of the bride wore cinnamon brown crepe-de-chine, with hat to tone, and also carried a beautiful bouquet. Mr W. Currie, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The couple left later by the express for Christchurch and 'Wellington. Mr and Mrs Currie will reside in Greymouth.

A quiet hut pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Mary’s Church on Tuesday morning, October 29, wheVi Molly, daughter of Mr J. Whitiskie, of Harihari,. was married to Len, fourth son of Mr and Mrs D. J. Hutchison, Kanieri. The bride entered the church on the arm of Mr J. Hutchison wearing a mauve costume and small biege hat. She was attended by Miss Maisie Head, cousin of the bridegroom who wore a fawn costume with hat to match. Mr TV. Hutchison, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. The happy couple left later for Westport where they will in future reside. They were the recipients of many presents including cheques.
