THE SESSION’S END
EXPECTED EARLY NEXT WEEK. WELLINGTON, October 31. It was announced by the Hon George Forbes, acting-leader of the House of Representatives to-day, that there will be a Saturday sitting this week, though it need not go beyond midday i'f a definite amount of business is transacted. He also mentioned that the usual monthly Imprest Bill will not be needed, as the necessary financial provision for November can be made on the Appropriation Bill, which has not yet been introduced. This statement made clear to experienced parliamentarians the fact that the Government intends to complete the session early next week,' for the Appropriation Bill, the final legislative item, is accompanied by the Supplementary Estimates. Though there are some important reports to come from select committees, and a few more minor Government Bills, the programme is not extensive and should be put through early in the coming week.
