' LONDON, October 31. “I hereby pronounce that our three brethren, by repudiating my authority, have set themselves .oustide our ministerial fellowship, imd that' they must there remain ; until, by obedience, they are again welcomed thereinto,” said the Bishop of Liverpool in imposing a solemn ban.,, to which Ihe Synod agreed, by 246 votes to 39. The Clergy concerned are AngU>datholics, namely the Reverends Cyril Wilkins, Derham Marshall and Arthur Wykes. all of Liverpool, who have used the forbidden form of Reservation of the Sacrament. Wien the Bishop demanded the abandonment of this service, which is only applicable to the sick, they replied that, on , conscientious grounds, they are unable to accept his regulation. The ban is the‘first Synodical action taken upon such grounds. The three clergy banned all attended the Svnod, where the Rev. Wilkins protested that the ban is an illegal pne.
