Squadron Leader Kingsford Smith is a- passenger on hoard the Acrangi, which arrived from Vancouver. Ho was tendered a luncheon here to-day by the Chamber of Commerce. , The Mayor, in seconding Major Joske’s toast of “Our Visitor,’’ said that Kingsferd Smith and the Southern Cross had done more to make Fiji known to the far corners of the earth than anyone or anything el-c.
Kingsford Smith, replying, said that his associate, Lieutenant Uhn, regretted that he was not able to come to Fiji to renew old friendships. Thev hoped, within five months, to establish an East to West airline.
