Well, cheer uj), I have good news for you. / 1 Patient (eagerly): What’s that, doctor Doctor : If you’re still improving tomorrow you can lie on your left side. ;; ; • FLYING CHICKS. •‘‘When I i order poultry from yon again 'for Sunday’s dinner,” said the man who quarrelled with his fish and game dealer, “I don’t wanf you to sent me any more of those aeroplane •chickens.” “What kind do you mean?” asked the dealer. “The sort that are all wings and machinery and no meat,” said the man THE WRONG NUMBER. An official of the telephone company was awakened in the small hours by the persistent ringing of his ’phqne. “Hello?” he growled. “Are you Mr Wring, of the telephone company?” inquired a pleasant voice. “I am,” he snapped. “What can 1 do for you?” “Tell me,” replied the voice, “how you like getting o»it of bed at twq in the morning to answer a wrong number?” ONE SPLASH. The Yankee was touring Italy with his guide. Arriving at Naples it so happened Vesuvius was in eruption at the time'. There, my friend, is a magnificent spectacle; even in your wonderful country I don’t supose you can show anything to equal that. The Yankee shifted his gum. Waal, perhaps not, but, say, I reckon we’ve got a waterfall that could put that darned, old fizzer out in two seconds.
