VICTORIAN CABINET DEFEAT
GENERAL ELECTION PROBABLE. (Australian Press Association) (Received ..this day at 9.25 a.m.) MELBOURNE, October 24. The State'Ministry was defeated in the Legislative Assembly on a motion for the 'adjournment of the House moved by j a Country Progressive Party member, Mr GloWery, who chaiged the'Ministry with failure to provide adequate relief for settlers who are' suffering great hardshipsowing to bad seasons. The voting was 34 to 30. Subsequently the Premier, Air Mepherson announced that he would meet the House to-morrow. It is probable that the - Alinistry will interpret the voting as a gesture of no-confidence and will seek a dissolution, and a general election wdl be held. C j
