THE HOUSE. ALL NIGHT SITTING. STONEWALL ON LAND AND INCOME TAX BILL. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 23. For the first time this session, the House of Representatives was still sitting at daybreak this morning. Consideration of the Lqnd and Income Tax Amendment BilL in committee has already occupied attention since early yesterday afternoon and when the House adjourned at 7.30 this morning if or breakfast, the short title was still unpassed. , On the motion of Hon. G. W. Forbes (acting-Leader of. the House) urgency was yesterday afternoon accorded the committal and remaining stages of the bill and in reply to an interjection he intimated that if the question of delay arose it would be the duty of the Government to see that such tactics were overruled.

Lack of a quorum necessitated the ringing of the bells at one stage >n the early hours this morning and on ther occasions when the question was raised, it was found there was barely the required number. Discussion is being carried on by Reform members who up. to the present have been addressing the House in “ shifts.” The acting-Chairman of Committees objected to “tedious repetition n in Speeches of certain members at one i.m. anfl since then the rule bearing on that point has been enforced. The House will resume in committee at 9.30 a.m. STONEWALL, CONTINUES. WELLINGTON, October 23. Reform members continued to voice opposition to the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill, when the Hou,sc of Representatives resumed in Committee at 9.30 this morning. , The short title stage had not been passed at midday. •
