ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE.

A FIRM MARKET,

Yesterday’s sale at the above yards attracted a large -attendance .of butchers and graziers, the former in quest of beef and the latter in search of stores of which there is a. marked shortage at present on the Coast. Prices for beef were equal to last sale and the. quality of .the whole yarding in this section- was, prime. Ox ibeef made- from 52s 6d .to 57s 6d per hundred and in one or two instances this figure was exceeded. Prime heifer to 565, medium 52s 6d to ofes, prime and heavy cows from 50s to 565. The caittle from Messrs Condon and Sons of the Maintain was again the pick of the yarding, the top price fo £25 ss, be tug obtained for their bullocks.

Stores were in good demand notwithstanding there were no straight out lines on offer, the yarding being a nondescript one. W. Jeffries and Co’s yarding consisted, of 76 fat cattle, 69 stores and 4 pedigree Jerseys bulls, the following sales being recorded:— For H. Busch 1 bullock at £18; tor F. Martin 1 yearling heifer at £4, 1 cow at £8 10s; for T. Cron 1, heifer at £l4, 1-at:£l2, I cow at £12;! for A. Scott 2 bullocks at j£l9 17s 6d,i 3 at £l9 1.2 s fed; 2 'at £l9 2s fed, 2 at £lB 17s 6d, 1 af £lB 12s 6d, 5 heifers at £l4 7s 6d, 2. suckers at £l3; for Condon and Sons 1 'bullock at £25 ss, 1 at £24 7s 6d, 2 at £24, 2 at £22 7s 6d, 3 at £2l ss, 2 at £2O 2s 6d, 3 at £2O ss, 2 at '£2o, 2 heife)rs at £l7 12s 6d, 2 at £l7 ss, 1 at £ls 17s Gd; 2 cows at £l6 10s, 1 at £l6 ss, 1 at £ls 17s 6d, 1 at £l4, 1 stag at £l6 10s; for Perry and Co. 2 bullocks at £l7 12s 6d, 1 at £l6 10s, 4 at £l6, .1 at £ls 17s 6d, 2 at £l4 17s 6d, 4 at £l4 15s, 2 at £l4 12s 6d, 2 at £l3 17s 6d, 2 at £l4 12s 6d; for J. Manzoni 2 vealers at £3 4s, 2 at £3 3s, 2 at £2 19s, 4 store steers at £6 6s, 8 store hefifers at £6 7s; tor D. B. Jellie 3 store cows at £5 11s, 2 yearling heifers at £4 3s, 2 yearling steers, at £3 17s; tor W. Olderog 1 fat cow at £l3 7s 6d, 29 mixed store steers, cows and calves at £5 Us; for a client 20 two year old steers at £8 Bs.
