LABOUR jMINJISTRY, BEING FORMED. (Australian Press Association) 1 > CANBERRA, October 21. The Right Hon Stanley M. Bruce to-day tendered the resignation of the Ministers of his Cabinet, to the Governor-General, Lord Stonehaven. ‘Subsequently Lord' Stonehaven sent for Mr James H. Scuilin (Leader of tlje Fedeilijil •'Plorlaamen!tary< Labour Party), and commissioned him to form a Ministry. The balloting for the,.Ministry has been going on all day to-day, and it will be continued to-mort'ow. Note.—A previous message stated that Mr Scuilin will on Wednesday broadcast from the, Federal capital the personnel of the Commonwealth Labour Government., STRENGTH OF PARTIES. ' (Received this day at 8.30. a.m.) . .7 SYDNEY, Oct. 22. In most of the outstanding electorates the election count is sufficiently advanced to indicate the final strength of the parties in the Commonwealth Parliament which is as follows: Labour 46 Nationalist ... 14 Independent Nationalist ... 4 Country Party 10 Country Progressive . ... 1 Therefore Labour will have a majority of seventeen over non-labour representatives. Mr Scuilin, replying to a great gathering of well-wishers at Melbourne, who besieged his train en route for Canberra, said liis Government would do nothing to injure the nation. He appealed to citizens as a whole for co-operation in putting Australia on its feet.
MR BRUCE’S SEAT. SYDNEY, October 22. There .is a distinct possibility of Mr Bruce re-entering politics when he returns with Mrs Bruce from a holiday abroad. It is not unlikely that a ceitain member will resign in order to make room for the former Prime Minister in the Federal Parliament.
