A GREAT SKIING TRIP. FINEST IN THE WORLD. (Special to “Guardian”) WAIHO GORGE, Oct. 22. A new skiing expedition was accomplished in the Franz Josef Glacier region yesterday by Guide Frank Alack. After conducting a party on their way .o the Hermitage as far as Graham’s laddie Guide Alack made the return journey on skiis. Descending from Graham’s- Saddle 0,759 ft.) he crossed the huge snowields of the Franz Josef to the south.vest and ascending and making a omplete of the Kaiser Fritz ■ange over Mts. Roon and Moltke, a height of over 8000 ft., and finally descending to the Defiance Hut, 2600 ft.

The ski run, Guide Alack states, was the most interesting and thrilling he has had in all his mountaineering experiences, and he was very emphatic as to the wonderful possibilities of i lie Franz Josef region for skiing and winter sports. It will be remembered that Guide Alack, accompanied by C. Jenson, made the first cross : ng of the Southern Alps on ski from the Franz Jose: to the Hermitage last winter, and a few weeks ago with T. Sheeran traversed both Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers on skiis

This last run, however, owing to its altitude and length, he considers the finest in the world.
