t i j j l/ (} \■,t> ■b i , An inquest was opened in .the 'Courthouse, Reef ton, before Mr W. W. Auld, J .P.’, Acting-Coroner,- concerning the death of Walter L. Coxall, which occurred on Saturday last.' Sergeant Fryer' conducted the case and called Clarence - 'Coxall, Who ‘ deposed that he had viewed the body'lying in> the morgue at Reefton, and identified it as that of his brothel’ 1 , Walter iLyell Coxall, a single man, a miner by occupation, residing at Waiuta, and coming home to Reefton at week-ends. He last saw him alive at Waiuta on the night of October 12th. He was then in his usual health. The enquiry was adjourned sine die. f
McCulloughs bridge bn the main sbuih road will be out of the builders’ hands shortly, after which the bridge building camp- Will hiove' to MacDonald’s creek, where the last of the longer bridges remaining will be taken iii hand. ,4s the approaches are well advanced this bridge should be available also for the Christmas holiday ~ traffic, thus Completing - the link of bridges over all crossings through to Waiho Gorge: A number of small water! courses are to be oulverted •or (platform bridges * built. also; and with the'improvement' to the highway itself,: -and . the attention .do. bad bends at narrow-places, the> last of the reproaches to the road should be removed. The main south road should be found in excellent order by the new yeor.
