A feature of the billiards play today, "was the splendid average of Lindrum in the afternoon. The Australian’s break of .688 included a remarkable run of' 145 consecutive cushion cannons. The exchanges in the evening were more-even. McConachy was scoring with rare confidence. He varied his play, preferring to score off the red, and he brought the session to a close with an unfinished 320, which was scored rapidly. He was never afraid to attempt a difficult shot. On several occasions McConachy was dogged by bad luck, but ne managed to manoeuvre the balls into scoring positions.
