TRANSPORT BOARD OPPOSITION. [By Telegraph, Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, October 18. > Strong opposition is being offered to the Auckland Transport Board in the effort to have certain employees covered .by Local Bodies’ Labourers’ award, the Union contending that members are covered by an agreement between the Board and Traxnwaymen’s Union. ' The District Council of the Alliance of Labour declares the Board’s action is a “ systematic, attempt to smash the Tramways Union” and has passed resolutions urging the local bodies Labourers’ Union torefuse to be used by the Board as a weapon against the tramwaymen.
