WEDDING BELLS
COATES—RAINS. Holy Trinity Church, Greymoutli, was crowded on Wednesday evening, when the marriage took place of Violet Harding, eldest daughter of Mrs Harding Rains and the late Dr Robert Harding Rains, of Sussex, England, to John Murray Patrick, younger son of Mr and Mrs T. _ E. Coates, of Grey-mouth. The ceremony was conducted by Archdeacon J. A. Jermyn, and the church had been effectively decorated for the occasion.
The bride, who was given away by Brigadier-General W. Mtldrum, 0.8.. 0.M.G., D'.S.O., wore a charming frock of ivory georgette over satin, lace forming ft deep yoke, flouncing cm the ankle-length skirt, and insets; on the sleeves. Her veil, of erolh'oidered Brussels not, was worn with an orange blossom civqlet, and she carried a sheaf of lilies and white heather, Her bridesmaid, Miss Clem Coatee wore'a frock of dove-coloured n'inon, the fitting bodice having ft yoke of lace, and the skirt falling in long points of lace. With this was worn a hat of jade green felt, and jade cTcen shoes. She carried a bouquet if pink tulips. Little Miss Mary Bryson of Wellington, also attended the bride. Her frock was of pink taffeta, and her pink tulip .bonnet was trimmed with blue forget-me-nots. Ml' A. T. Wallis accompanied the bridegroom frS best man,
Mrs Peter Mahv, sister to the bdide, wore a smart, frock of powder hi up ©reno-de-chine, with hat to match. With Mrs Coates’s frock, of beige georgette luce, was worn a black ißaliburitai straw hat. Mrs Litchfield, of Wellington, aunt of the bridegroom, wore black georgette and lace and black hat. t , .
A reception was held at the residonee of M v and Mrs T. E. Coates, where the health of the newly-wed-ded pair ancl various other toasts dwere honoured. Mr and Mrs Coates left later by motor on their honeymoon. the bAide wearing a frock of ohocolate brown orcre-de-chine, with musquash coat and brown Bangkok hat.
