CLAIM FOR DAMAGES
By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON ,October 16. The hearing was continued to-day in the Supreme Court of the claim for £10,001) damages arising out of the sale of Craigdean farm, in the Mangamahu Valley. The claim was based on the allegation that there had been fraudulent misrepresentation over the carrying capacity of . the property. Norman Anabell, civil engineer, of Wanganui, said that in May last, about l 10,000 acres of bush and scrub remained on the property. , On the lanjd that had .been recently cleared and sown, grass was doing quite well. The quality of the land was in keeping with the poorer land in the district.
One of the plaintiffs, Eric. Stanley Harding, saiid that Leonard Tver had told him Craigdean was carrying 7000 sheep, and when possession was taken in-August, 1927, they took delivery of 6757 sheep at the first shearing. The sheep generally had not done well and the position was worse in the following years. They had been short of feed for the past two years.
