ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, October 16. Fat Cattle.—There were medium yardings of fat cattle, the quality generally being good. The market wgs firm throughout. Heavy steers sold from £23 to £25 17s 6d'. prime £lB 15s to £2l 10s, medium £l6 15s to £lB ss, light to £l2 15s. Heavy heifers sold £l6 to £l9 7s 6cl, prime: £l4 10s to £ls 15s, medium £l2 10s to £l4 ss, plain from £ll ss, unfinished'from' £9 15s. Heavy prime cows sold from £l7 10s to £2O 12s 6d, prime cows £l3 to ' £ls, medium £ll 10s to £l3 ss, plain £8 5s to £11; others from £6 10s. Store Sheep.—There was but a small yarding of store, sheep, mostly of ewes and lambs of nondescript quality and a few pens of hoggets. It was an lar sale.,.

Fat Sheep.—There, was a larger entry of fat sheep. Prices were slightlyeasier, especially for the plainer sorts. Extra prime heavy wethers sold 47s to 52s lOd, heavy 40s to 465, prime 35s to 395, medium 30s tp 345, light 24s to 295. Best shorn ewes sold to 36s 10d, prime heavy ewes 44s to 46s 6d, heavy 38s to 435, prime 32s to 375, medium 26s to 31s, light to 265. Fat hoggets sold to 3ps. j Pigs—There was a small yarding of fat pigs. Competition was keen, espe- ■ daily for porkers. Choppers sold from £3 to £7 6s, porkers 40s to 60s, heavy porkers 60s to 74s Cd. The average was 9)d per lb, rasing in some cases to lid per lb. Bacon sold from £3 17s 6d to £4 15s 6d, heavy bacon £5 to £5 12s 6d ; extra heavy to £6. The average was 7d to 8d per lb. There was a good demand for store pigs.
