LONDON, October 15. “The Times” Berlin correspondent states; The German Government is actively campaigning against the Nationalists’ scheme for a Young Reparations Pirn referendum in Germany. This sehcjne the Minister of Justice, Hon. Guerard. when broadcasting, angrily denounced. He declared the Young Plan’s rejection would mean a reoccupation, and said that the time had come when the German people must choose between commonsetiso and nonsense. Simultaneously the Government issued a statement summoning the public to reiecl the proposal for a referendum, which statement was signed by all the members of the Cabinet, and the Premiers of Prussia and of other States, as well as bv eighty "rominent men, including bankers and business men.
The Government statement emphasises that the whole of the “policy of understanding” initiated by the late Dr Stresemaun would he imperilled by the success of the referendum campaign.” The statement also exhorts the nation to abstain from participating in any referendum.
