The following resolution was passed by the Directors of the Press Association to-day*: “The Directors of the United Press Association of New Zealand Ltd., desire to express their ■profound sorrow at the death of their colleague and chairman, Sir George Fenwick," one of the founders of the Association, and a director continually since 1870.” It was resolved that the following minute be recorded in the Minute Book:’ “Through the death of Sir George Fenwick, JNfew Zealand journalism loses its premier representative.. He took a leading pant in the establishments of this Association, was largely responsible for its development in its early day, guided it wisely and with unfailing courage, and assisted actively in the direction of its affairs until his death. His colleagues ever regarded him with admiration and affection and they feel that in his death they have lost both a leader and friend. They desire to record their appreciation of his oistinguished services, not only to the Association, but to journalism in general. They beg to tender to Lady Fenwick- and her family the deepest sympathy of all the members of the Association. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Lach Fenwick, and that the ' Association tender its sympathy to the “Otago Daily Times” and “Witness” Company Ltd., on the death of its Managing Director.
