CRICKET IN SOUTH WESTLAND
(From, a Correspondent). A striking example of enthusiasm was evidenced at a meeting called to form a cricket-club at Olcarito on the evening of October 11th. Mr Purcell, of .Wataroa has donated a handsome Challenge Cun to be competed ,for by teams from Wataroa, Okarito and Weheka, and judging by the enthusiasm shown -at . Okarito the competition should be particularly keen.
The patron of the new club, Mr 11. T. Stewart, presented the club with two autographed hats and the Pres.dent, Mr Norman Friend and Mr W. .McClnggage, contributed the other requirements, including pads, wickets, gloves etc. Mr McClnggage will also donate a lmt to the player of whatever team secures the host bowling average for the season.
