HOKITIKA FIRE BOARD

MONDAY, OCT. 14th. The Board met at 7 p.m. Present: Messrs A. It. Elcock (chair), Green .and Bain. An apology was made for Hon H. L. Michel and Mr Freeze. • The minutes were confirmed find outward correspondence approved. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE From W. Ridland, asking for extension of leave for one month.—Received and approved. , From Fire Board Association jn regard to amendment to Fire Boards Act, stating no legislation will he dealt with this year.'—Received. From Audit Office, Wellington, returning balunce sheet duly certified to. —Received.

From Internal. Affairs Department, forwarding report of Inspector of Fire Brigades.—received. From W. Ridland, asking for portion of annual leave.—Received; deferred until 12 months" completed. From H. L. Michel, thanking Board for letter of sympathy in illness.—Received.

From Treasurer, reporting receipts £144 Os Id, payments £175 4s sd, credit balance £127 Is Bd.—Received.

Accounts amounting to £175 4s 5d were passed for payment. The Secretary’s report of the telltale clock .was received and considered yery satisfactory.
