The “Morning Post” affirms that “if the Empire is to pull its weight in the world, its component states must agree , to do things together.” The paper then instances Mr MacKenzie King, the Canadian Premier, saying that Canada would not allow another accredited Soviet agent. Thus, it says, Canada takes one line and 'Great Britain takes another. Similarly, it says: “It is hard to believe that Australia will endorse the British Government’s adherence to the Court of International Justice.” The article concluded by expressing the opinion that an agreement on such subjects should be reached before, rather than after, a decision by the Mother Country. TIMBER INDUSTRY. RAIDING THE NEW ZEALAND MARKET. VANCOUVER, October 12. To sell lumber in New Zealand and Australia, a delegation of millowners and operators leave Vancouver on December 11th by the Aorangi. A Provincial Government grant is aiding the mission.

Sir James Parr, who was the chief guest at the Refrigeration Association dinner said refrigeration had mode New Zealand a veritable empire of the dairy farm. Three scientists would shortly investigate the possibility of shipping beef to Britain. New Zealand did not see why the Argentine should have things her own way.
