SCHOOL CONSOLIDATION
IX KOKATAHI DISTRICT The meeting held in the Public Hall, Lower Ivokatahi, on Saturday evening, to discuss School Consolidation, was largely attended by the householders of the district. Air J. Monk (Chairman of the local school committee), was in the chair, and Ah’ It. Wild (Chairman of the Canterbury Education Board) attended to give information and advice. After a general discussion it was unanimously resolved on the motion ol Air M. Wallace, seconded by Air H. A. Bedding ton, that a resolution favouring the closing of the Upper Ivokatahi School and consolidating at Lower Kokatahi, lie forwarded to the Canterbury Board. Messrs Alonk, Harris and Wallace were appointed a sub-committee to (•onduct negotiations on behalf of (the householders and to make an approachmen t with the Koitorangi settlers with a view to embracing the whole district in the scheme.
Votes of thanks to Air Wild for his attendance and advice, and to the Chairman terminated a very cordial meeting.
