THE HOUSE.
WELLINGTON, October 8. The House of Representatives met at 7.30 o’clock last night. The Labour Bills Committee recommended 'that the Shops and Offices Amendment Bill (Mr R. Mcßeen) and Workers’ Compensation Amendment Bill (Mr E. J. Howard) should not be allowed to proceed, in view of official statements that the whole of the subjects would be investigated during the recess, with a view to the introduction of Government legislation next session.
The Committee recommended that the Minister of.. Labour’s Shops and Offices Amendment Bill (No. 2) should be allowed to proceed. The House spent the remainder of the evening discussing the report on •the State Advances Office and rose at 10.30 p.m.
