FEDERAL ELECTIONS
BIG DAMAGES CLAIMED. (Australian Press Association) SYDNEY, October 3.. At the Supreme Court writs arising out of the Federal Election campaign, were issued to-day on behalf of the Union Theatres Limited, against the “Sydney Morning Herald, , claiming .£IO,(XX) for alleged libel. Other writs were issued claiming £5,030 for alleged slander against Mr Archdale Pnrkliill, the Nationalist candidate for Warringali against Mr Arthur Manning, the Nationalist candidate for Wentworth; and against Mr H. W. Horsfield, the General Secretary to the Nationalist Association.
