At the Police Court William Arthur Scott was charged with the theft of different sums of money totalling £4l, the property of Margaret O’Connor, at Auckland. The police stated last year accused was associated with a dancing school at Auckland run by two sisters. He was given'money to deposit in the bank on their behalf but spent it instead. Ho had made restitution of £ll. Counsel said accused had an unfortunate spin since arriving in New Zealand two ( years ago and wished to return to England. He was in a position, to pay the balance of the money in a week. He was remanded till Saturday for the Probation Officer’s report. EXTENSIVE FRAUD CHARGE. AUCKLAND, October 2. A. B. Crounch, alias J. M. Cameron, alias John Grey, was arrested on an extradition warrant alleging extensive frauds in Texas. Before the Police Court to-day he was further remanded to October 9th. Air Hunt. S.M.. eranfed hail of £6°>oo. including £3OOO personal and tnreo separate bonds of £IOOO each by Helensville residents. Accused is required to report to the police at Helensville at 7.30 p.m. daily.
