BASKETBALL
GREY MAIN A. CHAMPIONS. The fourth and concluding round of the Basketball Competition was held at the Hokitina school on Saturday last. Teams from the Greymouth district travelled by train in order to participate in tlie games. . Before play commenced a meeting of the West Coast Primary Schools’ Basketball Association was held, there being present:—Mr Lorking (in the chair), Miss M. Ferguson (secretary), and the following members of the Committee, M,r Partridge, Misses Bell, Meyer,. Pedder, Leslie, Creagh, and Mrs Fane. The balance sheet was read and adopted, the Association showing a credit balance of £1 5s 5d for the year. The matter of club colours was discussed. Mr Partridge moved and Miss Meyer seconded that Mr Lorking and Miss • Ferguson be appointed a subcommittee to go into the matter before the commencement of the 1930 competition.—Carried.
It was decided that the annual meeting be held earjy in April 1930, the date to be decided by the secretary. Before the conblusion of the meeting, Mr Partidge moved a hearty vote of thanks* to Miss Ferguson for the. capable manner in which she carried out the duties of secretary to the Association. Mr,.Lorking seconded the motion which Was tarried by acclamar tion.
