TO TAKE EFFECT ON SUNDAY

RUGBY, September 25

The Postmaster-General,, Mr H. B. Lees-Smith, has announced that next Sunday the working of the Imperial cables and beam wireless services to the dominions and India, that is, the telegraph systems kimwn as Imperial nrd Empiradio. will be transferred from the Post Office to the Imperial and International Communications Company. This is the company formed to take over, as recommended bv the Imperial Wireless and Cable Conference of 1928, Imperial and Emiradio services of the Post Office, as well as tbe services of tbe Pacific Cable Board, Eastern Telegraph Company and Marconi’s Wireless Telegraph Company. Overseas telephone services and AngloContinental telegraph services, which are operated by the Post Office, will not be affected. .
