ADDINGTON STOCK SALES. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 25. The entries were small and prices in several cases easier at to-day’s live stock sale at Addington. Beef.—There was a very small entry which met with a keen demand. Heavy cattle declined from 15s to 25s )per head. Steers sold; Heavy £l3 10s to £25 7s 6d, prime £l9 10s to £22 15s, medium £l6 10s to £lB 10s, light down to £l4. Heifers and cows sold: Heavy £l6 to £l7 17s 6d, prime £l4 10s to £ls 10s. medium £ll 15s to £l4: plain £6 io £lO 10s. Fat sheep.—There was a very medium class forward. Prices were on a level with last week for prime sorts, but inferior sorts were easier. Best wethers sold 46s to 58s 6d, heavy 40s to 455, prime 35s to 395, medium. 30s to 345, others 26s to 295. Ewes: The : best sold 41s to 48s, heavy 30s to 40s, prime 30s to 355, medium 28s to 38s, others 24s to 275. Store sheep.—The entry was the same as last week, with the exception of the hoggets, which were slightly hotter. Lambs.— were 50 forward. The best sold from 36s to' 425, medium 30s to 325, light 26s to 295. Pigs.—There was a medium yarding of pork and bacon, which met with good demand. Choppers sold £2 10s to £5 18s '6d; pork 42s to 545,' heavy 57s to 73s 6d, the average price being BJd per pound. Light bacon sold £3 :15s to £4 10s, heavy £5 to £5 12s 6d, the average being 7Jd per lb. Store pigs were easier. Large stores sold 27s and 31s, medium 22s to 265, slips 18s to 21s, wennors 7s 6d to 18s 6d.
