ROMA OIL

A Brisbane message states that oil produced by the absorption plant from gas from Roma Oil Corporation’s No. 1 well is now on the market, and is in keen demand. A temporary petrol pump has been erected in the town, and more than 400 gallons were sold in the first few days. Several owners of large stations have ordered as much as Tour tons for immediate delivery. The price charged at the pump is 2s a gallon, which is 9d 'ess than the’'price of imported petrol in tins, and 7d less than the price of imported petrol at pumps. Permanent pumps will he erected in the coming week, and the corporation intends to erect more as the occasion demands. The directors of the company state that although they have ample f mds in hand to sink a further hole, they do not feel disposed to embark upon this expenditure pending further knowledge of the proposed alterations by the Queensland Government to the Petroleum 'Act. Tliev have, therefore, decided to suspend all boring for the t’me being, but will continue to run the absorption plant. The average dnilv production of gas ifrom the No. I well for the week ended September 7th was 1.050.000 cubic feet, and a total of gallons of gasoline was extracted. The natural oil coming from the well totalled 17 gallons.
