The average for the first fifteen days of this month has been fifty-one below zero, being much lower than was recorded by Amundsen. A geological party will go south to Queen Maud Mountains in October, when it is believed the temperature wil*l become decidedly warmer, but there is unlikely to be any flying done before December.
