The members of the Council of. the Grey District Acclimatisation Society will lie visiting Lake Kanieri hatchery at the week end. The hooking plan for “Rip Van Winkle” to he performed at Princess Theatre in a week’s time, is now open at Mclntosh’s sweets shop. The combined Progress Leagues of tire South Island are issuing a special booklet of South Westland scenic and j sporting attractions for free distribution on the new steamer service between Tiluff and Melbourne, and on J overseas steamers generally. Messrs W. .Jeffries and Co. rpport a large attendance and a very .successful auction sale yesterday en behalf of Mr B. Lyons, of StalFord, in the mart.
