The Annual School Fair‘was held at Hokitika District High School yesterday in aid of the funds for the improvement' of ■ the school grounds. Under their teachers the scholars had gathered a. large quantity of goods of every descrip!ion. ». •• There was a’large attendance of parents and'others interested in the ad* vancement of the school/'and the scene was a very busy one. /Many donations hau been received, and there was a . steady 'sale throughout the afternoon;’ while afternoon tea was also procurable. ■ • '' , The financial ’ result is stated to be very satisfactory, it 1 being expected that tho gross proceeds will be in the vicinity of. £9O when the clearing up sale of eggs is completed. . The egg competition was won by Form IV. with 33 dozen. The number collected by the whole school readied the wonderful total of 155 dozen.
