■ «•"» ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 18. Fat Cattle:—There were 86 daily cattle yarded, and there was a keen demand. Best springers sold to £l4 10s, good £lO to £"l2, medium £8 to £9 10s; heifers ibest to £15,; good £ll to £l3, medium £8 to £10; aged cows £6 to £7 10s. The fat cattle were a fair entry, meeting a keen demand. Included in the entries was 50 North Island steers, which sold up to £27 17s 6d. Steers sold: Heavy £24 to £27 17s 6d, prime £l9 10s to £22 15s, medium £l6 10s to £lB 10s, light down to £14,105; heifers and cows: Heavy £l6 to £l7 17s 6d, prime £l3 to £ls IQs, medium £l2 to £ls, others down to £7. Store Sheep.—There was a small yarding of store sheep. The sale was very dragging. Ewes and lambs sold 14s to 15s 4d all counted, halfbred ewe hoggets 28s 7d, wether hoggets to 22s 4d. Fat Sheep.—The fat sheep forward numbered four thousand, mostly wethers. The sale was somewhat irregular. Wethers sold: Extra to 525, heavy 40s to 455, prime 35s to 395, medium 32s to 345, others 28s to 31s; ewes, extra to 475, heavy 36s to 40s, prime 30s to 355, medium 28s to 30s, others 24s to 275. Pigs.—ln the pig section the pork and bacon yardings were medium ones. Prices were well maintained. The stores sale was patchy. Choppers sold £3 to £6 183 6d, pork 44s to 555, heavy 57s 6d to 68s 6cl; averts® P er R 9Jd; bacon £3 15s to £4 10s, heavy £5 to £5 11s, 6d, average 7 1 d. Stores sold: Large 38s to 45s 6d, small ,19s 6d to 28s Od, slips 14s to 19s, weaners 6s to 245.
