Record entries were received for the New Zealand Golf Championships, to be played at the Wanganui- Golf Club’s Belmont Links,, oomrjiencing oft Sept. 26th. and continuing uhtil October 4th.

There are seventy professionals and amateurs with a. national handicap of six and under entered in the open ana amateur championships. With approximately 25 with national handi> caps of seven and over, and a limit of 72 competitors, this will mean a draw for the lust two of the 72 places.

• The committee have decided to allow other entrants to play, provided that they are agreeable to start before 8:30 a.m. or after 11.30 a.m. If these pldyers have to start late in the morning, their afternoon round will comnieii,ft approximately at 3 p.m. Preference aiS to the time of starting additional eiu trants will he given to those with thh ,
