REFORM RALLY

WAITING FOR hAN ELECTION

AUCKLAND, September 16. Reform Party supporters, representing all parts of Auckland province, attended the opening of new headquarters of the Auckland division of the Political Reform League by the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Coates. In declaring the rooms open, Mr Coates spoke of renewed growth of the Reform Movement, all over the Dominion, and a determination I 'by its supporters to work for victory when the time came. He hoped the establishment of new headquarters in Auckland was only the beginning of an onrush of supporters that should carry everything before if. He appealed to all present to gather their friends into the Reform movement. The more they brought the better. In a vigorous speech, Mr Coates said the Reform Party was ready to face an election when the time came. “We are not out to create chaos in the country,” he said, “but when an election comes we will be ready any time we are called upon.” After attacking in his strongest terms the Government’s interference with main highway finance and wTtat ,h° termed its attempts to malign the late administration, Mr Coates declared there would be a determined attempt to carry the Reform banner to victory when the time came.
