A Christchurch press wire states that Mrs Annie E. Herbert, J.P., one of the best known social workers in that city, died on Saturday night, at the age of 52 years. She was a member of the last City Council, and a member of the last Hospital Board, but she refrained from seeking re-elec-tion owing to uncertain health.
