The Wanganui Jockey Club’s spring meeting concluded to-day in brilliant weather, the attendance being good and the going splendid. The totalisator handled £26,744, against £26,493 on the corresponding day last year, making the total for the meeting £46,7791, compared with £49,263 for last year. After the Spring Hack Handicap, K. Grylls, rider of. Valprc, was suspended for two weeks for crossing. Debutante Handicap.—(s) Si mb a 1, (1) Isa 2, (3) Foot Rule 3. Won by half a neck; two lengths. Time 53 2-5.
Gonvillo Hurdles.—(s) Glengariff 1, (2) Ah Wera 2, (3) Novar 3. Won by half a length: four lengths. Time 2.59.
Spring Hack Handicap.—(3) Black Mairo 1, (7) Knightlike 2, (4) Royal Lineage 3. Won by a short head; half a length. Time 1.15. Eclipse Stakes—(l) Laughing Prince 1, (2) Admiral Drake 2, (3) Vertigern 3. Also started.— (4) Royal Game. Laughing Prince came through at the straight entrance and won by two lengths, with Vertigern a length away. Time 1.31 1-5. '
Tidal Handicap.—(2) Hunting Crfi Hi (4) Air Laddie 2, (1) Some Acre 3. Won by four lengths; two lengths. Time 1.31 3-5.
Higgie Handicap.—(2) Kick Off 1, (6) Piuthair 2, (1) Otairi 3. Won by a head; half a length. Time 2.8 2-5. Moutoa Hack Handicap. (5) Shrewd 1, (1) Singer 2, (4) Goodwill 3. Won ( bv half a length; a head. Time 1.49 3-5.

The other starters were: Crucis, Valparaiso, Commanche, Nedda, Dreamdale, Violin Solo, Woodgern. From a good start, (Mollison and Nedda led for a. furlong. They were then supplanted by Valparaiso and Crucis. with Winalot last. Mollison shot to the front in the straight, and in a thrilling finish, won by half a length from the fast-finishing Pharlap, with Wiiiiii;lot three lengths away third. Commanche was fourth. Time 1.52. Limerick was scratched.
Spring Handicap.—Night March (N.Z.) 9.4 (Reed) l’; 1 Paquito (N.Z) (MeCarten) 2; Leadliglit 8.3 and Tidal (N.Z) 7.13, a dead heat, 3. Twenty-one started, including Concentrate. The early pacemakers were Spearman and Leadliglit, but the New Zealanders finished best, Night March winning well by two lengths from Paqui!; o , with the dead heaters half n leiig M ' away third. NEW HURDLE RECORD

At Moonee Valley races to-day, the Boomerang Hurdles were won by Leon tes, whose time for the two miles was 3.26}, and this is a world’s re cord, heating lied Fuchsia’s time in New Zealand a few weeks back by half a second.
LIMERICK’S OBJECTIVE
SYDNEY, Sept. 14
Trainer Jones, in withdrawing Limerick from the Chelmsford Stakes at Tattersalls Club meeting, expressed the opinion that it was in the best interest of \h'is future engagements, as lie desired to reserve him for the A.J.C. meeting.
TURF DECLINE IN BRITAIN
LONDON, Sept. 14
The Daily Telegraph says that there has been a drop of 108,500 guineas at the yearling sales at Doncaster. This shows that rich buyers of horses are now dropping out of racing.
