On Saturday, Miss Bald left for Dunedin where the young lady takes part in the Competitions which open there to-morrow. A meeting of the Hospital Ball Committe will, be held this (Monday) evening at 7 o’clock at the Board rooms. All returns to be handed in.—Advt. Mr A. N. Baker, who will represent the ’Westland Acclimatisation Society at the Wellington Conference of Associated Societies this week, leaves for the north to-morrow. j ( Among the outward passengers by' the express on Saturday were Mrs Windsor and her son, of Ross, leaving on transfer to Christchurch. Windsor was one of the successful tutors of elocution here and will be missed greatly. -Her young son was j one of the promising competitors at the recent and previous Competitions.
